A Weighbridge measures the weight of a vehicle or load using load cells and a digital weight indicator. Often, you want the measured weight to show on a large outdoor LED display, so drivers can see it easily.
System Components
1. Load Cells
→ Mounted under the platform; convert weight to electrical signals.
2. Weighing Indicator / Controller
→ Converts the analog signal from load cells to a digital weight reading.
→ Common brands: ADI, Essae, Avery, Rice Lake, Mettler Toledo.
→ Provides serial communication output (RS-232 / RS-485 / MODBUS).
3. LED Display Board
→ High-brightness outdoor display that shows the weight (e.g., “WEIGHT: 24560 kg”).
→ Usually takes data input from the weighing indicator through serial or Ethernet communication.Controller or Microcontroller (optional)
→ Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or industrial PLC can process and forward data to LED display if the indicator doesn’t support direct connection.
